FIXED or IMPROVED .AIWs for F1C
============================================================
Fellow F1C pilots, today, 17/10/2015, I started uploading the first (of many) part
of my FIXED or IMPROVED .AIWs.
Please follow this topic to the end, to see details for each part, and visit my
F1C folder at Mediafire, and get them all!
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/bjsc6wiv5d86u/F1C_Fixed_or_Improved_AIWs_by_JimmyF
Thank you.
============================================================
Greetings Wookey, and greets all around, to the F1C community!
Perhaps some of you may remember me from RaceSimulations.com, where I was
posting the FIXED or IMPROVED .AIWs for the F1C tracks, that I've been doing.
BTW, greets to Jalnervion as well, who helped me fix the "City" track. He fixed the
XPITIN.mts of the track and I corrected the Pits. That was back in the day...
Now I'm back with a vengeance, guys!
I've been working on .AIWs the whole 2015.
My story is, I discovered the game in 2008, and I started downloading tracks like
crazy. Of course, many tracks don't work at all, or have lots of problems.
One of the tracks I liked a lot was "Jarama16790". Unfortunately, due to a bad last
corner, the AIs were just missing the entrance to Pits. And I wanted to find a way
to correct that.
I started digging, and I discovered the "AIW & CAMfile Editor v3.50" by "Guitarmaen",
which he developed for rFactor, really, and was actually an improved version of the
"AIW Viewer/Editor/Converter" for F1C, by "RaceGT".
So, the first .AIW I worked on was "Jarama16790", back in 2009. At some point I quit
F1C and I started working on .AIWs again in 2012, and I reworked and finished
"Jarama16790", and then again I quit and started working on AIWs for the last time
in 2015.
I'm gonna start uploading all the FIXED or IMPROVED .AIWs I've done so far, little by
little, after I do a last check on the "Read me" files.
Back when RaceSimulations was on, I have uploaded five packs of FIXED .AIWs and
three packs of IMPROVED .AIWs, each pack containing six to eight .AIWs.
So far in 2015 I've worked on 65 more, and 12 more from way back in 2102.
Altogether, that's a lot of cheddar right there, gents
Hopefully, enough of them tracks can be found at Wookey's track & mod site, for which
I am so very thankful. I'm sure you all know it :b
Alright, here we go with a couple of AIWs I worked on yesterday (and btw I discovered
this forum the day before yesterday), two tracks that "F1CFan1804" has converted from
rFactor and has posted the links here:
https://wookey.forumotion.com/t415-f1cfan1804-s-tracks
So, I present you folks with my first uploads...
Twin Ring Motegi (Road Course), Japan
http://www.4shared.com/zip/yibbwRjEba/Motegi__FIXED__AIW.html
and
Automotodrom Grobnik, Croatia
http://www.4shared.com/zip/JZXEKhHHce/Rijeka__IMPROVED__AIW.html
I am sorry that it is not as convinient as Mediafire, but all you have to do is to create
a FREE account at http://www.4shared.com/, and btw you can have a free upload
space of 15 GBs, daily downloads of 3 GBs, and a monthly traffic of 30 GBs.
It ain't that hard, guys :s
Common!
I hope that you will enjoy the tracks. BTW, both of them wouldn't load up cause either
.mts files or textures were missing, and Motegi had wrong materials both for the Pitlane
and garage floors, so Practice/Qualify/Race wasn't possible.
I always wanted the Motegi Road Course, thank you F1CFan1804!

Hey, thank you Luigi, it's good to be here!
Pun acknowledged :b
Finally I can share all that stuff I've been working on (all these years,
like a hermit) with all the F1C Community.
And I've found already so much new cool stuff, here in the forum.
As Birkuc would say, "F1C will never die!"
Okay, I'm switching from 4shared to MediaFire, for your convenience.

Here is an excellent tool for getting significant improvements on the AIW file for F1 Challenge '99-'02 (regardless if pit problems are fixed or not): AiwConverter112.

We could be a great team. AIW's are the only thing I don't quite have a grasp on, so we could work together.

10-4 buddy, and I hope you liked the improvements.
Let me explain my situation, first.
--------------------------------
I'm here because I LOVE F1C and I don't like the tracks to be full of problems.
And I believe that with the work I've been doing since 2009 (and I will upload
with links here, on this thread) we are NOT the poor cousins of the racing
gaming, but we are on top.
Too cocky?
We'll see
Cause I don't rest until all problems are eliminated, from each track.
For example, check this thread next, to see what I've done to Lee's
"AMSRenault" conversion.
So, I will try to help you as much as I can, only remember, EVERYBODY, that I am
only one person, and I also have a LOT of other stuff to do besides improving
F1C tracks.
But I want you guys, modders, converters, .AIW creators, to learn the darn
"AIW+CAMfile Editor" so you can take a load off from my shoulders.
I will upload also the 5 tools that I use, and every modder must have, and with
those, you can make all tracks complete:
1) The "AIW+CAMfile Editor v3.62" by Guitarmaen (based on RaceGT's Editor)
Fine tune an .AIW, or correct a LOT of problems.
(BTW the v3.62 is the most F1C friendly)
2) The "MAS-Explorer V2.12" by Virtua_LM
Extract ALL the files from a .MAS file at once, or create a .MAS file (simple instructions
included) Both for F1C and rFactor.
3) The "MAS Studio2002 v1.42" by Locutus
Extract one file at a time from a .MAS file, or add a single file to a .MAS file, etc.
I use it mostly when I want to find a specific .mts file or a texture, and extract it.
4) The "3D SimED Editor v1.18" by Dave Noonan
This is a Swiss Army Knife! After you extract everything with MAS-Explorer v2.12,
you go to File/Import as Objects and you load up the whole track, in 3d!
Or, just a few .mts files, that you choose. From there, you can do all kinds of stuff!
Or, you can convert from rFactor to F1C! Both textures and 3d models. And lots of other
stuff! You can check the track pieces for wrong materials, if the fences are solid, you
can open doors to garages in the paddock, or delete that darn curb which sends the AIs
flying, etc, etc, etc.
5) The "AIW Converter v1.12" by Frentzen127
You can assign values for a "wet" path - what this program does is copy the "wp-path"
values and adds them as "wet" path, for rainy races - or, delete all lines that are not
needed to F1C, etc.
BTW, here's an example from the Monterrey track:
wp_path=(4.2541,0.0000)
becomes
wp_path=(4.2541,4.2541)
Now, if you check out the game's tracks, the values for the "wet" path are never
the same as those for the dry, but I hope what this program does, will do the job.
I always drive in the sun, so, I wouldn't know :s
I will prepare a .zip file with those programs, along with my old tutorial "F1C How AIWs
should work" which explains the basics of the "AIW+CAMfile Editor" and gives a great
insight on what which waypoints (WPs) do, what is their function.
I'm gonna post a link right here.

Re: FIXED or IMPROVED .AIWs for F1C
Lee67's "AMSRenault" conversion.
=========================
Guys, fellow pilots, right here I want to explain to you what
I mean by "FIXED or IMPROVED .AIWs".
I will do this, because I want you to:
A) Take an interest to the files I will be uploading, so the
years (literally) I have wasted on improving F1C tracks will
bare a fruit, to share with the F1C community
and
B) Cause I want you guys to learn to do what I do, so that
I will be somewhat relieved and plus we, the F1C pilots
will have the best collection of tracks in all of racing gaming
communities.
So, here I go, and in the meantime, you guys grab this file:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/el7dayye8c1hnps/AMSRenault_%5BIMPROVED%5D_AIW.zip
* ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// *
I saw in Lee67's topic with his track conversions
https://wookey.forumotion.com/t410-lee67-s-f1c-tracks-converted-from-rfactor-gtr2-gt-legends
that this "AMSRenault" track had surfaces you couldn't drive on, and
I thought I'd check it out.
I ended up editing the .AIW, cause I can't resist that :s
Among other improvements, the AIs are now 2 seconds faster
on the lap.
I ended up with 10 points in my ReadMe file, which I'm gonna copy
here, after we take a look at the "Before and After" animation.
Here it is:
---------
1) First of all, if you don't open the track's .SCN file and put a couple
of slashes in front of the Commonmaps.mas file, the track WILL NOT load.
Like so:
// Commonmaps.mas
==========***==========
2) Almost all surfaces on the sides of the Main Track have WRONG materials!
Can't drive on those
So, you open your game's "Terrain.ini" (that's in SeasonData\Circuits) with
the Notepad, go to the "// Roads" section, and on the last line, where the
materials are given, you add this:
,paint172,paint173,paint185,paintorange51,paintorange175
==========***==========
3) The connection from the Main Track to the Pitlane was very bad.
The kind that makes AIs stop in the middle of the traffic.
Now you can't even feel it.
==========***==========
4) The connection from the Pitlane to the Main Track was very bad, as
well. That's improved now, there's only a slight hesitation (for the AIs).
For the Player, it's a guess job, as always.
==========***==========
5) All the Garage Positions for the 2nd drivers of the teams had bad
coordinates, outside of the track.
So, all 2nd drivers would pile up at the same spot somewhere on the
Main Track, unable to do Practice/Qualify.
==========***==========
6) Exactly at the last corner of the track, there was a crooked WP
that made both the AIs and the Player alike, to drop down one gear.
Now the AIs just do a slight course correction, they don't drop down
a gear. Yay!
==========***==========
7) The first WP of the Main Track and the last one WERE NOT in line!
That made both the AIs and the Player alike, to drop down to 1st gear
from 4th (would be 5th, now that I straightened the previous crooked WP).
Now you don't even feel it!
==========***==========
I placed a WP_EVENT (Limiter ON warning) at WP 815, so that the AIs
don't go full throttle into the Pits.
==========***==========
9) This .AIW doesn't have any groove marks, so I made a version with
a subtle .55 groove to all the Main Track WPs.
Usually I place a .45 value, but here the road texture is dark enough.
So, .55 is very subtle.
Of course, I don't have the time to do a more proper groove, nor it is my
responsibility.
If you have the time, you guys do it.
Now, if you don't like the groove, don't worry, there's 4 .AIWs to choose from.
==========***==========
10) Track supports 22 teams, and Pitboxes are PACKED.
I made a version with 11 teams, and the pitting is nice & easy
So, you have 4 .AIWs to choose from:
------------------------------------
22 teams, no groove
22 teams, WITH groove
11 teams, no groove
11 teams, WITH groove
|===============================================================|
What I mean to say is, that this track was full of problems, problems not related
to the conversion but to the creation, and now it is nearly perfect, it is COMPLETE.
So, that's what I do, and I hope some of you will learn to do it, too.
So, guys, please don't disregard my uploads, follow this topic, visit my F1C folder
at MediaFire every now and then, and I have a lot of goodness for you.
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/bjsc6wiv5d86u/F1C_Fixed_or_Improved_AIWs_by_JimmyF
God bless.

Coming right up, amigo.

File ready! It's a .rar, tho :s
There you go, friends:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/vcpewa1mmazc9rf/F1C_neededPrograms-courtesy_JF.rar
It's a bit bloated file at 35 Mb :s
Contains wanted, needed, must-have progs for F1C
All these programs were uploaded either to Racesimulations.com (now closed) and/or
to rFactorCentral (and I'm sure Wookey's site must host some of them) for all racing
communities, so they are fair game.
1) The "AIW+CAMfile Editor v3.62" by Guitarmaen (based on RaceGT's AIW Editor, for F1C)
Also inculded are the v3.70, v3.97, v4.05, v4.12 and v4.22
2) The "MAS-Explorer v2.12" by Virtua_LM
3) The "MAS Studio2002 v1.42" by Locutus
4) The "3D SimED Editor v1.18" by Dave Noonan
5) The "AIW Converter v1.12" by Frentzen127
* REQUIRES JAVA v6 or BETTER TO BE PRESENT * (Included in the archive)
6) The "F1C Camera Editor" by Smiley
7) The "F1C RadTools v1.9" by keoma_tog
Plus some other goodies.
----------------------------------------------------------------------|
LASTLY, the only other site I know of right now that hosts F1C tracks (besides
Wookey's track & mod site), is this:
http://gphungary.hu/letoltesek.php?letid=449
The site speaks Hungarian, but if you scroll down the page you will see that you
are already in the first of thirteen pages with F1C tracks.
Problem is, some of them where uploaded to Megaupload, which was closed down
by the Feds, as you all know.
Still, you can get some tracks from there, probably :s
That's it, enjoy the programs!

Hi JimmyF, thank you for your improved AIW for "AMS Renault Test Track". But in the pack are four various AIW-files. What file I can use in F1 SEVEN mod with 24 cars in the race?
