Never been so proud of having to create an icon

Avoid using that outline magenta tone in any icons as that tone represents transparency in-game.
While is possible to make another shapes and sizes, I just keep this small size for the texture as it looks good anyways.
Photoshop or any program that let you work in layers will be your best friend.
There is a lot of room for style in icons but I just try to put the focus on the number and driver.
If it's possible use the number font for every team, if not, using the same font for all teams will do.
Personally I try to replicate some notorious aspect of the car livery for background, but you can do a more simpler background using a solid color and/or some lines (in example as the Williams or Aston Martin 2024 icons).
I put some diffuse outline as a shadow for the drivers, this helps to highlight them a little bit more.
For the teams just using an official logo should do.
