To be more precise, this is an exact case of someone who has stolen content created with the effort of another, rather than stealing the content itself. Very few sponsors are actually designed from scratch by modders; they are recreating real-life counterparts of something.

Let's put it this way. If you take sponsors from other tracks, from a sponsors pack, or from the internet to mod a free game and publish for free, you have "stolen" those companies behind their trademarks. If they complain against you, you would probably see that as ridiculous even when they are in their own right. The same can apply to JMM against Edge, but what makes the transition from ridiculous to disgusting is to take advantage of the effort with malice aforethought to do the exact same thing Edge pretends for the sole intention of pissing him off while taking Edge's efforts and credit (not so taking the sponsors as such; EvangelionTitus did that accidentally, but the action itself was identical). Especially while JMM and Edge have their own story. One quite awful that brings topics such as astroturfing, sock-puppetry, shilling campaigns, defamation, and cyberbullying. This is what should be exposed.

Fabian instead just dedicates time in preparing/modding/creating sponsor pictures to give the F1C tracks a few steps closer to reality in resembling the era. Nothing more, no hidden pretensions neither. That's something innocuous if you ask me.

However, complaining about having sponsors taken away from you "as such" is quite anticlimactic from my point of view. I can think of many ways to defend myself if I were JMM because of the way the problem has been exposed.

Anyway, I have not come to sow controversy. Just bring my own perspective. Perhaps uncomfortable, but necessary for me.

I answer you very simply ...
if this guy takes sponsors from this forum, for me it's stealing ...
if he searches for them on the internet and re-elaborates them in his own way (surely they will never same like these) then the matter changes ...
anyway, I understand that if he had asked, certainly permission to use them would have been granted ...
But I'm definitely not talking about copyrights (hardly Marlboro will ever give them to us), but simply about the files attached to this forum

that's what I mean ...
I didn't create the logo ...
nor do I own the copyrights ...
but thanks to the help of a friend I was able to rebuild it ...
I could also give you other examples, like when I contacted one of the heirs of the Leader Card Midget to get a clearer photo of one of their cars used in the 1959..
so if one arrives and stole my reconstruction work, without at least mentioning me ... it is obvious that I get angry. Evil or Very Mad

Indeed. And Cristian knows every part of the beef between JMM and myself (even the fact that i used to be one of JMM admins and i know every dastardly things that Juan did not only in leeching terms, as Cristian said there´s more topics especially when he promotes harrassment and cyberbullying from his public and private Facebook groups through sockpuppetry or using goon squads)

Nothing more to say or argue.

As I mentioned elsewhere, it is very nice to use all diplomatic resources to maintain ethics and goodwill, even when I have the right to make decisions, i preferred not to do so and let Carlos, Cristian (when he was at CMT) and Alfredo take given their knowledge and experience. However sometimes diplomacy doesn´t work and you have to be more "vocal" about some topics (and quite honestly when you have a mix of leeching and cyberbullying can be a very tricky issue) even when JMM was exposed several times and i thought that he learned the lesson he comes back with his antics. Therefore as a measure to end this quarrel i will put watermarks in next sponsors and if anyone here wants a watermark free sponsor you can ask it in PM (for instance i will help Cristian with it)

...and maybe to tighten access to certain content scratch
