Re: F1 1987 MOD - WIP?
I really like the DRR mod, but one thing that I think could get better is the wheels and tires. That part I would change and put the wheels and tires of the DMarques mod. I don't know if everyone here agrees.

wheels and tires in DDR are from dmarques mod, only with a different shade. when a put a 1988 car in 1987 and changed chassis and wings, i was surprised to see that the new car and the other from the teammate was literally identical (except suspension)

Re: F1 1987 MOD - WIP?
About the wheels and tyres, they're similar but not the same. 1987 DDR V3.0 mod was released in Summer 2016, and the new tyres from Dmarques mods were included in 2017 I think (correct me if I'm wrong).
-------------
Anyways... I spent a little bit of my time, doing a little comparison about 1987 cars. I hope it may be useful at some point!
I've taken the Williams as a example, as it is one of my favourite cars of that season.
First of all, a comparison between the DDR car (87), and Dmarques Cars (86 & 88 Williams). We can see here that, the 87 car is wider than the other ones (not just the Williams, but all 87 cars... as the author is different). Would be nice if they were the same wide as the other 80s cars. 86 & 88 are equal.
86 & 87 together
87 & 88 together
86 & 88 together
Here we can see the Tcam onboards:
1986
1987
1988
And now... I would like to start a little debate. I'll show 2 versions of the 1987 Williams, from different angles: One is from DDR mod (F1C), and the other one is from the HR mod (RF1), The same that cecelo shared here, some days before. I think that it's a package converted and released by Vimana.
I don't do a comparison between other cars, because they're the same in both platforms... except for the Williams, and Lotus.
F1C is made from scratch. RF1 version is basically the 1986 Williams by ChiefWiggum, modified for the FW11B specifications.

Note: It's just for fun I don't have any influence of the cars chosen, but if it can be useful at some point... here it is! Cheers and have a nice weekend

Re: F1 1987 MOD - WIP?
lot of work here! incredible work
the 1986 and 1988 cars aren't from the same author. most 1986 cars were done by chiefwiggum, while 1988 is from carrera4
1987 is from ddr
guess dmarques adapted them to look the cars really similar?
doing all that work of adaptation will be daunting. not only because there are a lot of cars and teams... but because of all the chassis programmed for each race in the process of making race by race variants
maybe dmarques can do all that, but for us, is impossible. we have all 1983 - 2020, plus reduce polygons on all cockpits of those seasons (except 97-05) and the models of 83-85 and 2010-2016
but don't let you be disappointed
1993 f1 cars are as wide as 1992 f1 cars in f1c. perhaps same goes with tires. in reality rules changed width from 1992 to 1993: the first was the reduction of the cars' track, from 2.15 m (7 ft 1 in) to 2 m (6 ft 7 in); the second was a reduction in rear tyre width from 46 cm (18 in) to 38 cm (15 in), so as to provide less grip than the previously wide rear slicks
and nobody said a word
preserving the mod as it is could preserve kaps and drr's individuality in their own work, but i would bet on dmarques in size change of the cars if he wanted to do a 1987 mod with his standards

Re: F1 1987 MOD - WIP?
if Kaps' cars are the same as in DDR I bet they both come from the F1 Turbo mod released fifteen years ago...
https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/22485-f1-turbo-mod-1986-1987/#comments
Currently there is only one modder (and I'm talking about who making cars from scratch) who has the carset (brand new )ready but not yet released...
https://www.grandprixgames.org/read.php?4,1019439,page=72
the rest is a continuous climbing on the mirrors, unless someone decides to do something from scratch before our friend Pedro releases his mod

a 1987 mod based on the turbo mod (2005) exists: but is not drr; is the one made by Cristian Luis many years ago. he did the mod alone with permissions with only 14 years old
ddr is a different story. if the 1987 mod was based on turbo mod, a ddr 1986 mod with vehicle models similar to ddr 1987should exist, but we had schumacher180's mod instead
the 2005 cars were used in F1C as part of the turbo mega update by f1 freek according to joao. then cristian used them for his 1987cl
the first drr mod was released in 2013. author seems to be somewhat named "Daniel Ricardo"
the Brazilian community should have the key

I was one member Orkut F1C Brasil (https://www.orkut.br.com/MainCommunity?cmm=19819)
when (besides Birkuk's mega mod) there was no other mega mod (Valpaso arrived many years later),
but to reveal the doubt it is enough to compare the models of Kaps and those of the DDR, I can also do it if you pass me the files...
