OMFG!!!!
I worked my butt off this evening to finish the Mexican GP Minardi livery, the only one sponsored by Cimarron, instead of Lois that year, just to have everything deleted somehow/accidentally.
I still can't figure out how the disaster hapenned, but it was a genuine and devastating kick in the balls, I can tell you

Did you try with some file recovery programs such Recuva ? (it happened to me some time ago with a F1C experiment project and i recovered more than 90% of the files using that program)
Or if you want there's more alternatives. https://www.lifewire.com/free-data-recovery-software-tools-2622893

Re: F1 1987 MOD - WIP?
No, haven't tried that, but I am trying right now with Recuva.
Thanks for the tip Edge!
EDIT: Managed to recover 3 of 4 files, luckily one of them was Minardi!
Thanks a million Edge, literally a life saviour!

Re: F1 1987 MOD - WIP?
Brazilian website? I remember some Brazilian sites that had 1987 mods, CL and DRR.
The DRR author is part of the F1C Facebook community F1 Challenge 99-02 Brasil 2.0
I can't say if he made the mod from scratch or used some other mod as a base. My suggestion is to try to talk to him through this community on facebook.
One question: Is it possible to convert Pedro 87 Ripping Corpse's GP4 mod 87? Wouldn't it be better to use it as a base?

The problem with Ripping Corpse 1987 mod is that it is not released yet and the release is not very easy to predict because Ripping Corpse can take his time and we can wait a lot so... (sometimes months or years even if the mod looks finish)...
Or maybe he gives someone a link? I don’t know...

Re: F1 1987 MOD - WIP?
For a moment I thought that the entire 1987 mod disappeared. So glad that it's not the case
Kaps, would be possible to see some screenshots of the 1987 cars that you're improving? I feel a lot of curiosity about how they look like. Cars like Williams, McLaren, Lotus, Ferrari... hehe
If I must give my personal opinion... i'm optimistic. Ripping Corpse 1987 cars, most of them look very very good, but as titi01170 said... they're not released, and it's a mystery when it will happen.
About the released mods, DDR V3.0 is clearly the one that has the best models, so far.
The 87 mod that it's improving Kaps, will have even better cars? We don't know, but in any case it's a very good thing that this project is on the way.
86-87 were the missing high-quality 80's mods for F1C. Dmarques released 1986 this year (I think it was april 2020), and to see something coming for 87... it's awesome.
I think i'm talking too much, to say nothing xD cheers community, and stay safe!

Re: F1 1987 MOD - WIP?
if the mod kaps is working on is ddr, we will have a good full 1987 for all
there are some people that don't like the models (anniversary) but ddr 1987 are THE BEST MODELS of all 1983 - 1998 era. their vas have 4000 polygons and vb have 2000. these are one of the most optimized mods only falling behind rh
a little remodelation in wheels and light effects and it will look like a DavidMarques mod. there is an user tha described that quality is in F1 Challenge: to have the most realistic models possible with the least amount of polygons possible
driver models and suits also changed

I found this 87 mod being made for the rFactor has anyone seen it? I didn't know.

I don't know if it's worth converting.

Also needs a full rework in physics (Hopefully Carlos can make them) as well as a whole new trackpack (Hopefully David M can make some tracks for that specific year)
With all those improvements DRR mod can be even better. (Is one of my favorite years in the 80's )

Re: F1 1987 MOD - WIP?
Ohhh yes, I played this mod last year. Even if F1C is my favourite sim by far (and 99% of the time I spend playing in, is F1C)... sometimes I play some rF1 mods. Some models aren't available for F1C and are fantasticcecelo wrote:I found this 87 mod being made for the rFactor has anyone seen it? I didn't know.

Well, this rF1 87 mod... as I see, is basically a conversion of DDR V3.0 cars, except for the Williams (based in '86 ChiefWiggum car, with the little modifications of 1987 in the front wing, livery, side parts and rear wing), and Lotus (I dont know from where it comes... but looks GREAT). The rest of the cars are esentially DDR's, but with worse cockpits. In original F1C 87 DDR, cockpits are pretty good, and a really good basis!
Maybe the Williams & Lotus used there are slightly better than DDRs ones, but still... both beautiful!
Totally agree with all the comments mates. DDR cars are an awesome basis, and fps friendly. With a little resize of the cars (I think they're a little bit too wide, comparing to the rest of the 80s by Dmarques), change in wheels, and some other little details like lightning effects and not much more... hohoho
Anyways, idk which carset has been taken for this project, if are DDR ones or not, but... I'll be happy in any case, be sure!
Have a nice day everyone
