Post by Rob Ryder Thu 2 Jun - 20:10

Why are Postimg.org stored images not showing the full size when clicked .... only the thumbnail again and a page of adverts scratch !

Anyone else having this problem (since tonight)?

Still the same for me this morning - a quick view full screen then change to thumbnail and ads... Crying or Very sad

This is not just new posts but all Postimg.org images.... no problems with other sources.

Maybe it is some sort of geographical advertising push by Postimg aimed at the UK? All of the ads seem to come from Steepto.com

I do not have any problems. The only change is an advertisement displayed on the right side of the photo (previously under the photo).

I'm really sorry for this problem. Do you use any stop adds software? I use adblocks with good effect, erasing adds from imgbox and postimg alike. I know it is not really fair for those image sharing programs that finance themselves by advertising only, but it saves me so much time as I keep track of 95% of any picture posted here in case another problem à la Aerogi occurs.

I don't use any adblocker software because I neve rneeded to Neutral

The ads appear are on the right as Thunder commented with the thumbnail-size image on the top left.

I have just realised that if I 'right click' the image and save it saves in full size to my PC.

It is strange but no catastrophe.

Mr. Rob,

to see where the problem should use another PC connected to a different line from his home and then see which causes effects on the second PC.
My tip is optional but at least it allows you to check whether the English territory this image manager makes into a difference compared to the rest of Europe.
The use or not of features that reduce the presence of advertising messages to the user is only a system to speed up the loading of the various web pages as well as having a minimum of tranquility for those who do not want the advertising end in itself. Besides all this I hope that the event will use another image manager can host his photographic work as useful for a cultural and even educational aspect.

Same problem in Belgium as of June 1st and only for http://postimg.org/:
Since the ads appear, whatever you try, the thumbnail-size is the best one can get.

All other sources are without any problem:
http://photobucket.com/
http://imgbox.com/
http://imagizer.imageshack.us/

For what it's worth:
My browser is Google Chrome
I tried Internet Explorer... with the same result

The girls on the ads seems to keep things small, so... ban http://postimg.org/ ?

regards,
Chris

Thanks Chris, at least I know it is not just me/my PC geek

As I said earlier, right clicking and saving the displayed small image downloads the full size image to your PC.
