No, I'm not sure. From this view, it is very difficult to recognize, but I think that this helmet looks a little different.Rodo115 wrote:Well, it's hard to know because both wore white helmets, but Uhlenhaut had a black band under the helmet:Thunder wrote:Why? In these 3 pictures I think is Uhlenhaut who drives:

Perhaps, in the photo that you quote, I may be wrong. Are you sure it's Simon?

Is it really the Buenos Aires GP? Compared to these pictures:Wookey wrote:30 janvier 1955 - Buenos Aires

Looks like the same session: the same style of the starting number, cars without rear-view mirrors.Wookey wrote:42e Grand Prix

I found this picture described as the Argentine GP, but it's raining. So I think, it's the Buenos Aires GP.

Later, the numbers on the left side were eliminated, and Gonzalez made blue and yellow paint his car.

The first photo, color, perhaps is the first day of practice GP Argentina. Bayol is in the same place as the Ferrari in the previous post.Thunder wrote:Elie Bayol

The second is certainly GP Buenos Aires, when it rained in practice.

Looking better, I think I was wrong and you're right, and the picture is André Simon. There is one detail more important than the helmet, I mean the French flag painted just behind the cockpit. During practice, including driving Simon, none of the four Mercedes was painted flags on the body.Thunder wrote:No, I'm not sure. More over, there are too many spectators for practice session.Rodo115 wrote:Looking better, I think I was wrong and you're right, and the picture is André Simon. Well my friends, we are all wrong and I the most. The helmet is very possible that belongs to Rudolf Uhlenhaut but the driver, at least in the car #2, is Fangio.Rodo115 wrote:Well, it's hard to know because both wore white helmets, but Uhlenhaut had a black band under the helmet:Thunder wrote:Why?
