Racing Line Developments presents CART Factor, a simulation of the CART FedEx
Championship Series.
.features
* 29 cars from the 18 teams of the 1998 CART season
* Four distinct engine brands
* Two tyre brands with unique characteristics
* Reynard 98I, Swift 009c, Penske PC27 and Lola T98/00 chassis
* Full road course, short oval, speedway and super-speedway (Handford) aero
packages
* Accurate aero distribution, downforce and drag values, utilising CFD and
wind tunnel verified data
* True-to-life suspension models
* Advanced tyre model
* Real setup ranges
* Full, optimised DX7, DX8 and DX9 support
* Full RealFeel support
.installation
NOTE: It is recommended that you use CART Factor in conjunction with a fresh
install of rFactor Lite. At minimum, if you have CART Factor: Prologue
installed you must delete the "Prologue" folder from GameDataVehiclesCARTFactor.
There are two different packages of CART Factor; one is just a compressed .rar
archive, the other is an .exe installer. Both install the exact same files,
however RLD appreciates that some users do not like executable installers
while others prefer the convenience an installer provides.
If you selected the .exe installer, all you have to do to install CART Factor
is run the .exe and follow the wizard, inputting your rFactor directory when
prompted. If you have downloaded the .rar archive, it is recommended that CART
Factor is extracted to a temporary directory, and then that the files are
manually copied to the rFactor directory to ensure all files are installed to
the correct location.

PHYSICS
===============================================================================
Because the speedway and normal road physics are so different, there are two
sets of physics in the mod. Before you run F1C, you need to decide which to
use, since there is no way to automatically tell F1C which physics to use. If
you are going to race in a speedway or super-speedway, run "CART Speedway.bat".
This will enable speedway wings and physics. If you are going to race on a road
course, street course or short oval, use "CART Road Course.bat". If you're not
sure which physics you selected, the cars in the menu will indicate it by the
wings displayed. If you are running a championship and complete a road course
and want to move on to a speedway, make sure you exit the game and select the
appropriate physics before continuing your championship.
BONUS
===============================================================================
-Indianapolis included as a season race since most CART drivers participated in
this event anyway. Plus, let's face it, the Indy 500 is simply awesome
-Atlanta Motor Speedway included as a non season race. I really like this mini
Super-Speedway
-Phoenix International Raceway included as a non season race. Another one of my
favorite short ovals. Too many ovals is never enough with CART/IndyCars
KNOWN BUGS
===============================================================================
-Mirros in TV Cam have a strange black figure in the center
-Pit crew overalls are all wrong, basic color sets included
***If anyone can help resolve one of these issues, please contact me
FINAL NOTE
===============================================================================
If you notice that your car is driving funny even though the right setup file
has been loaded for the specific track, it's probably due to the wrong physics
being loaded. Make sure before running the game, you select the correct physics
BAT file before loading your circuit. If you are unsure which physics to load,
look at the GDB file in the SeasonData folder. Tracks with //SS (Super Speedway)
and //SW (Speedway) after their names must use the CART Speedway.bat physics.
All other circuits, including ones with //SO (Short Oval) must use the CART
Road Course.bat physics. You cannot switch the physics with the game running.
If you would like to swap physics, you must exit F1C and select the appropriate
BAT file. For more info, refer to the PHYSICS section in this README.

INSTALLATION
===============================================================================
1) Delete any other 98 CART mods from F1C for this mod to work properly
2) Extract all files from CART Series.exe to F1C installation
directory
3) Wait for CARTSetup.bat to autorun (This will add driver names to game.dic)
4) Run the right CART bat file and enjoy the ride:
CART Road Course.bat --> Street, road and short oval wings and physics
CART Speedway.bat --> Speedway and super-speedway wings and physics

Re: CART Series
Great job David! I loved the mod
Although the Indycar circuits have the typical AI bugs such as drivers who do not know how to stop in the pits
But the rest is very well done

Re: CART Series
And in others they do a kind of Drive-Through, they enter the pits but leave without making their stop.
