To be honest I don't know if that's the case. The picture is part of the Autosprint report on the ROC and to me the picture is taken at Druids

OK, this clipping from Autosprint is the first version I have seen of that picture without the rear wing cropped out. This shows McLaren's long chord "Göttingen" section aerofoil. I can find no pictures of them running that wing at Kyalami, so it is indeed the Race of Champions, and the earlier thread which others said "proved" that it was Kyalami (because of the sandy soil in the background) has to be discounted.

The photo from Autosprint shows the spare car. The race car had a white "E" by the extinguisher pull on the engine cover, and a smaller air inlet behind the driver's helmet with an extra pip pin fixing in to the roll over hoop.
