Austria, Österreichring (1981?)
Hello everyone,
Today I was watching some Youtube videos and I found this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkW3lGWfjYs
This is a GP4 Österreichring version (I think the author is Pedro Ripping Corpse, but I'm not sure) released in 2013.
My question is... what do you think? I mean, you think that this GP4 version is closer to the real Österreichring of that era? Or do you prefer the current 77-87 Österreichring we already have in F1C? (also very good, but... different).
(Just for curiosity and entertainment).
Have a nice Sunday and Merry Christmas to you all!!

Yup. Looks like Ripping Corpse and Jcaranti's.
To be honest, in terms of the track itself, I don't sense much difference. The setting around the track itself looks clearer in the GP4 version, but racing in the F1C version is really nice. If you check it out in Wookey's older site, you'll see it's a really nice ride.
Best wishes.

Re: Austria, Österreichring (1981?)
By the way, does anyone have a working version of this track?
In GPC/SamAlex's (converted from RFactor), the starting and pit lights appear floating above the Texaco-Schikane curve and they don't work where they should be. This has a simple fix, which is going to the end of the scn file and commenting out the lines after "Instance=stglow". The "real" pit and start lights are in the middle of the .scn file, in instances called startlight, pitglowin, pitglowout, pitlightin and pitlightout, but they don't work. Plus, the pits don't work properly. Any assistance in this will be great.
Best wishes.

Hi d4nf1c,
some converters from rF to F1C let the originals startlight, startglow, pitglowin, pitglowout, pitlightin and pitlightout objects (without renaming the instances in the SCN-file) and paste other stlite and stglow objects. But it's a stupid way. Better is do the original lights working. It's enough renaming the instances. (Not objects in the SCN! name of th eobjects in the SCN-file must be the same as th eoriginal names of these objects. Otherwise they will not be loaded.) Startlight rename to stlite, others to stglow, ptlit01, ptlit02, ptglow01 & ptglow02. I use this template:
Instance=ptlit02
{
MeshFile=pitlightin.mts CollTarget=True HATTarget=False
}
Instance=ptglow02
{
MeshFile=pitglowin.mts CollTarget=True HATTarget=False
}
Instance=ptlit01
{
MeshFile=pitlightout.mts CollTarget=True HATTarget=False
}
Instance=ptglow01
{
MeshFile=pitglowout.mts CollTarget=True HATTarget=False
}
Instance=stglow
{
MeshFile=startglow.mts CollTarget=True HATTarget=False
}
Instance=stlite
{
MeshFile=startlight.mts CollTarget=True HATTarget=False
}
And do not convert the BMP files of XXXLit via 3dSimED! Only with some graphic program.
Light converted via 3dSimED:
And with graphic program (I used IrfanView):
Do you see a difference?
XXXGlow files must be converted to TGA, not to BMP!!!
Best regards,
Lee

Re: Austria, Österreichring (1981?)
Thanks for the answer, Lee67. Specifically about Osterreichring, the problems are:
1) apparently, the converters simply went with throwing the light mts files in the mas, resulting in them floating on the Texaco curve.
2) as the original pitlights are bmp, converting the instances as you mentioned bring out a terrible result as far as the pitlights are concerned.
3) I couldn't find an stglow, so even though there is a stlight (originally startlight), it doesn't light up.
4) and to finish, the pits aren't working.
Hopefully, you and/or other track savvy guys can help us solve this one.
Thanks for the interest.
Best wishes.

Re: Austria, Österreichring (1981?)
And the floating lights aren't the best what you have?
If you'll want so I can convert some Österreichring '81 from rF/GTR/GTL to F1C. Do you know some good version for the converting?
I can't find something like that 'cos "http://trippteamdownload.servegame.com:100" doesn't work...

Re: Austria, Österreichring (1981?)
Thank you guys! I think this is the only track of all the championships, that the boxes do not work. I also remembered the Avus 1959, but this track must be completely restored, at least in the version I know. Thank you guys!

Hi, Lee67.
Thank you so much for your offer.
The track I've been using, which, I believe, is what the great majority has, is already an RFactor conversion (you'll see the RFactor logo at the start line).
I'll send you a link via pm in some moments.
It only needs the glow.mtses properly positioned and with tgas instead of bmps.
If I knew how to move objects to a fixed position in 3DSimed, I'd have tried it myself.
I read somewhere Valerio fixed the aiw for the pits for this track.
I'll check with him about the aiw.
Thanks again for the effort.
Best wishes.

Re: Austria, Österreichring (1981?)
But this is F1C conversion, d4nf1c. I need the original rF, GTR2 or GTL track. I hate to improve some f*cked conversions... But I'll try.
