The reason you see two seats it's because that is a sportscar and the rules for this kind of cars state that they must have two seats.

Most sportscars have the driver on the right exactly to optimize the weight distribution. If you consider that the majority of the circuits are raced clockwise, with more curves to the right than to the left, having the driver on the inside of most turns would give a weight distribution advantage.

Another reason is that the driver has better visibility of the apex and can place the car more accurately most of the time, reducing lap times and overall race times.

For instance if you observe Ferrari road cars from the 50s you can see that most of them have right hand drive because Ferrari road cars were built for racing...

Muchas gracias Paulo por tu explicación a la consulta de marie sobre los dos asientos en los sport prototipos. Los reglamentos así lo exigen, por lo tanto vemos ese segundo asiento -que en realidad es tan pequeño que nadie podría sentarse en él- en los coches.
Marie, a ese Lola que muestras deseo tenerlo en mi colección; es el modelo más bellos de los T280. El amarillo con la franja blanca y roja me apasiona; si mal no recuerdo corrieron en Le Mans 1972 y en las carreras del Campeonato Mundial de Marcas.

Marie, that Lola that you want to have in my collection; It is the most beautiful model of the T280. The yellow with the white and red stripe fascinates me; If I remember correctly I ran in Le Mans 1972 and in the races of the World Championship of Brands.

¡Hermosos dioramas Marie!
¿Reproducen la Mille Miglia? ¿O la Targa Florio?
Me encantan los dioramas, más aún cuando contienen circuitos, coches y gente del pueblo; posiblemente el día que ya no deba trabajar podré dedicarme a armar algunos y modificar/mejorar mis modelos.
