I can't help but seeing a BRM leading a Cooper in spite of the picture's very low resolution, which would make 1958 impossible...

1960?

It was my first thought but for what we can see of the supposed "BRM"'s rear numbers, I'm not sure it fits. But again the resolution is so poor that it's largely guessing here...

Not Bonnier no.36, but de Filippis no.26. The cockpit's sides are higher on de Filippis' car, while the number "6" is not as close to the edge of the air scoop than on Bonnier's car.

This picture has been placed in the race-by-race as Phil Hill, Ferrari no.23. I'd rather say Dick Gibson, Cooper no.19 - it looks like him and it definitely is a Cooper.
