Unraced Formula Series
The last 30 years there were a lot of ideas to start new Formula series, make it cheaper to enter the F1 for new talents.
Though many series only existed on paper as an idea, though some of these series were actually alive some were only tested, others had multiple cars ready.
One of these series was the SuperFund Formula introduced by the Austrian investment group Superfund , better know for their sponsorship of Minardi in 2004 and their attempt to set up a Formula 1 team with Alexander Wurz in 2010.
In 2003 Superfund was the title sponsor for the F3000 and the same year they introduced the Superfund Formula SF01 as successor of the F3000 series.
I spoke with one of the testers of the SuperfundSF01 Timo Glock and also with Vincenzo Sospiri. They said the car was fine.
Im working on a big article about this series , but for now enjoy the pics

Later it should become the Super League Formula, not really a succes as A1GP was.
Johnny Herbert - Chelsea team
Pedro Lamy - Benfica

Bas Leinders - Anderlecht
Nigel Mansell
Mark Blundell
Damon Hilll
Pics are including nevr seen merchandise (at least some skatches of it 2001 style)
And who is interested they had a screensaver still available [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
(Got this from the official site back then) A new story about this series is WIP.
The Car
The Premier1 Grand Prix car will be a stunning 'state of the art' single-seater racing car.
The car will be a 6-speed pneumatic semi-automatic paddle operated sequential gearbox combined with a proven 4-litre V10 engine giving in excess of 750 brake horsepower and a broad power band to enhance drivability and the opportunity for overtaking.
The Carbon/Kevlar chassis will be built to exceed Formula 1 crash test and safety standards and will have some unique extra safety features. The shape will be partly determined by Formula 1 standard design utilising the latest in Finite Element Analysis but will allow greater underbody aerodynamics to allow close racing and 'towing'.
The total weight of the car and driver will be approximately 650kgs.
Calender 2002:
7th July, Estoril, Portugal
21st July, Zandvoort, Holland
4th August, TBC, Germany
18th August, TBC, Austria/Belgium/Czech Republic
8th September, TBC, England
22nd September, Magny Cours, France
6th October, Barcelona, Spain
20th October, TBC, Italy
3rd November, Buenos Aires, Argentina
10th November, Interlagos, Sao Paulo, Brazil

Re: Unraced Formula Series
I think that was the first public presentation of the Superfund SF01 during the last Round of the Euro 3000 Series at the Nürburgring.
30. Oct. 2004
Driver was Karl Wendlinger. He did just 2 Laps.
