FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) 2023

The 11th season of the FIA ​​WEC will begin with the Official Prologue at Sebring on March 11 and 12, followed by the first race, the Sebring 1000, on March 17 for the 'Super Sebring' weekend.

The first 6 Hours of Portimão at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve will take place on April 16. It will be the second time that the WEC has run on the track, which already held the 8 Hours of Portimão in 2021.

Just two weeks after Portimão, the teams will meet again for the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. This is the 11th edition of this test, which has been present in all the FIA ​​WEC seasons and is considered the event that offers the best preparation for the next 24 hours of Le Mans.

The month of May allows teams to prepare for the big race as they face a very busy June with the 91st edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans taking place on June 10-11. This year's race will be the centenary edition, as the event was first held in 1923.

At Le Mans, the world's most prestigious manufacturers, Ferrari, Porsche, Peugeot, Toyota, Cadillac and Glickenhaus, will compete for the magnificent Centennial Trophy, created in association with the Monnaie de Paris and recently unveiled at the famous Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. in California.

After Le Mans, the FIA ​​WEC moves to the 6 Hours of Monza, which takes place on July 9. This will be the third edition of the event that has already provided excitement in its short history with the FIA ​​WEC.

On September 10, the 6 Hours of Fuji will be held, the tenth edition of this test in the emblematic Japanese circuit, with the characteristic long straight and where difficult weather conditions are always present.

The season will conclude once again with the Bahrain 8 Hours on November 4. Bahrain has been part of the WEC calendar since 2012 and the 2023 event will mark the eighth time the venue has hosted the season finale.

The FIA ​​World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) has approved the seven-round calendar for the 2023 FIA World Endurance Championship by electronic vote.



I found it interesting to follow this new WEC format with many interested brands and those that will come next year, I don't remember such an interesting WEC in all the years that I dedicate myself to following this championship.
