F1C on New Laptop
Hey Guys,
Here's a personal issue I'm having. Just got a new XPS 9700 with the RTX 2060. I was trying to get F1C setup, however, I'm running into a weird problem. Most new laptops run on the embedded Intel GPU and when needed, use the discrete GPU, like when games or other 3d programs are executed. It seems like F1C cannot see the RTX 2060, only displays the onboard Intel. Has anyone had any experience with this issue? Any ideas on how to get F1C to see the nVidia card, even when running the 3DConfig?
Thanks

Re: F1C on New Laptop
Do you have the exe file set to be compatible with windows 95?

Yeah, played around with compatibility options, unfortunately none work. Not only does it not use the RTX, but it CTD as soon as a track is loaded or I change my car. I set it to the same compatibility as my other computers which has worked perfectly all the time. I think it’s a graphics card issue. If anyone knows the workaround, this would be great

In a few hours I will be back home, I will see how it is at my place and maybe I can do something

Re: F1C on New Laptop
As for the CTD you might need to install windows compatibility tools and patch the exe with the emulate heap option. I have to do that in windows 10 for the game to run. As for the gpu issue, no idea but id think the intel should be sufficiently good it is a 19 year old game. I can send links next time i'm on my computer later if you want the download is on the microsoft website.

Re: F1C on New Laptop
Did you try changing settings through Nvidia Panel Control? Going both .exe files and 3dconfig file right click and finding option "Run with graphics processor".
I have an old Asus K45 with Win 7 Ultimate 64 bits and Nvidia 610M dedicated graphics and it works to me (i donĀ“t think it changed a lot with Windows 10)
Hope it helps https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5035/~/run-with-graphics-processor-missing-from-context-menu%3A-change-in-process-of
