After the Jaguar victory there were rumors that Jaguar had used too much gasoline and, unlike Porsche, could still go full throttle at the end of the race. The rumors came through a letter from Sauber Mercedes to TWR Jaguar. This is what the article in Rallye Racing #15/1988 (German Motorsport Magazine) and the caricature refer to.
