i've found out, that they swiched the logo already in 1999. I've seen it in a video of the imola grand prix 1999 here in the link at 7:13

So is it safe to assume that in 97 and 98 they used the Ferrari-type one I already did and from 99 to 01 (I think) they used the red 90s McLaren?

yes, it's safe that they used for 97 +98 the ferrari type logo and 1999 - 2000 the other logo. For the season 2001 the logos completely disappeared. Thank you so much for the hi res logo cheers

Thank you for pointing out that crazy change. I really hadn't noticed it even after looking at hours of footage from those years when re-creating Imola. Cheers

your welcome and it's nice to solved it now. I'm still trying to find the strange missing logo from imola 1986 (beneath Renault at the building) and i have a little bit better and larger Meta logo for imola 1992 - 1994, incase if you are interested
