default genstring format

i know I can make the gen file work however I want but I am trying to decipher the default format for the genstring in the veh files.

so far I have figured

12345678

1 is tyre manufacture
2 is ????
34 is car number
5 is car manufacture
6 is ????
7 always seems to be R, not sure why
8 is driver a or b for helmet choice

I had seen an explanation years ago but have long forgotten it or where it was and can't find it. Just trying to make mods that fit with the generic_f1.gen I know how to I am just curious as to the why is anyone could help me. Thanks in advance.
