Re: Peterson in Monaco - 7799-AMB-MON.jpg
This photo is very strange - the resolution ratio is 2048x1496 but it has to be square ca. 1500x1500. BUT then the Peterson's helmet looks like from Coneheads movie! So I think Peterson in helmet is added in photoshop...

Re: Formula 1 pictures of 1977
The question NOT only for 1977
This question I got myself more times, here is the example why: In Belgium 1977 Bernard DeDryver used privat March 761 in various colour desings. My question is - did the mechanics overspray the car or did they use self adhesive wallpapers or...?
The same problem was for example Tyrrell in Monaco 1984 - in practices totaly other colour design than in race.
In F1 as well as in aerospace industry there is a tendency to save every gram and additional overspraying must add the car some balast weight... so how did they do that?

Hi ondro,
which picture are you refering to?
I can not find it.
The other cases of various colour designs is probably much easier then you might imagine:
The March Team was famous for swaping parts of various cars. In my opinion the best example is Brambilla at Germany 1976: After Vittorio crashed his race car during practice, he got the old car previously used by Merzario (a white car) and the only orange part that still was intact was mounted on the new car.
In the case of DeDryver:
All chassis related parts (white sidepods, red headrest) didn't changed their colours, so I suppose they only changed the cockpit surrounding.
And in the case of Tyrrell at Monaco 1984:
Pictures of Bellof driving the "Yardley Gold" car have the name "Brundle" behind Bellofs head. So they only changed the starting number which should be an easy job. All the other variations I see only need a different decal placement.
