Tyrrell P34. Matchbox 1/32 scale

Another oldie almost done.



A kit from 1979.  Built as a car from the 1977 US GP as that is the closest to what one can do with the decals in the kit.



It should have a white stripe and a Good Year logo on the nose to be correct.


But I'm happy that those almost 40 years old decals worked so good. There are some things left to do like adding glass to the windows (no parts included) and paint the letters on the wheels.


ut that has to wait as I started on a second Surtees to accompany these two cars.

Hi, nice build ! I did it some time ago. Matchbox give it as Canadian GP version but it is more South Africa. For the cockpit windows I've used Microscale Kristal Klear. Also the name "Depailler" was written in blue and not in red. And finally you are right, there is a missing white line and Goodyear in front of the car. And it is not easy to paint the white Goodyear letters on the tyres !!

Nice work on your kit. I like the "extras" that yo did on it.
You are right, South Africa is a race I missed so it seems that SA and US GP's are the closest one gets with the kit.
I forgot about the blue Depailler letters and another thing that is wrong is the "star" logo that are to small.
Well. faults or no faults, the kit makes a rather nice looking car in the end.

in the meantime on ebay I ordered the Tyrrel P34/2 Matchbox 1/32 (it will be my first montage kit ), in the waiting I'm working a 3d model version....
