Mod F1 97 pour F1 Challenge


First of all, thanks to the CTDP Team to allow me to use some shapes, cockpits
and steering wheels of their 1995 mod.
Thanks to
- BMWfan & theflori, For the use of some textures
- Prozac, For the use of his tyre shape
- Ralph Hummerich, For the use of some textures

This pack contains :

-> shapes and wings of every team in 1997
-> specific wings used in Monaco, Hungary, Germany and Italy.
-> basic and NT textures for the cars.
-> all helmet drivers tobacco and NT
-> slightly raising of drivers helmet
-> all 1997 tracks, except buenos Aires and Jerez (but you can download them at
  http://tantra.drivingitalia.net)
-> Pitboys tobacco and NT for every team
-> cockpits and steering wheels have been made as good as I could do with the
  pics I had

INSTALLATION
===============================================================================
1) Backup and delete any other 1997 mods from F1C for this mod to work properly
2) Download and install the updated versions of the following default circuits: Melbourne, Imola, Monaco, Barcelona, Montreal, Silverstone, Hungary, Spa, Monza, Jerez --> https://wookey.forumotion.com/t1248-dm-tracks-corner#62897
3) Extract all files from F1 1997 Season.exe to F1C installation directory
4) Wait for 97Setup.bat to autorun (This will add driver names to game.dic and insert all 97 team pit walls in logomap.mas)
5) Run F1 Challenge 99-02.exe and enjoy the ride

Holy what?!!! Wow!!!  After the death of Gilles Villeneuve in 1982, I've stopped buying "Grand prix" and "Sport auto" magazines (Started to buy them in 1978 at 7 years old and I was collecting every older stuff that I found about F1, like Road'nTrack from early 70s in used books store) and since then (1982) I've only watched 1 or 2 race per season on TV (often only the GPs of Canada) and clip from that area on Youtube, so i did'nt had the opportunity to really watch the race by race variation on the wings, liveries, helmets, rims, circuit's details and all but it will be a great and fun opportunity to do so! Let's say that I started to really appreciate F1 from this area (1983-1997, euh lets say 2002) with the F1C's mods that you're now having upgrade! I remember when I was checking at "Racesimulation's forum", around 10 years ago, to see if the missing cars from 1989-1991 were finally release and to fix some problems with the "Turbo area mod". Today I don't have enough space in my discs to download it but for sure I will as soon as I buy a new disk! (I have to buy a new one anyway pretty soon for other projects) I am really happy to add this to my F1C collection!!!  Thank you so much!!! I guess all this work for all those seasons (1983-1997!!!!!!!) is monumental!!! WOW x15!!!

Spa, Monaco and Barcelona doesn't work in a clean install. I even tried to install these circuits from the stuff  in DM tracks corner, but it doesn't work either.

Could be done a revision?

cone files are missing in Belgium and 1997_Spa_Francorchamps MAS files as well.

When I quitted them from the SCN files, then I had another CTD about another MTS file. Quitted them, and now I have CTD because BBWood.bmp file is missing. I created one, and then I have another CTD problem because there is a TGA file missing (CWMLNOISE.TGA).

It seems there is some MAS file missing...

Looks like you skipped step 2 from the installation notes on the first post. Have you downloaded and installed the separate track packages?

Yes, it seems that's it. I just forgot the new MAS files.

Hey guys, I've uploaded a new update for the 1997 mod. This new version includes my Monza update (must download full Monza package from my tracks corner) and thanks to KonstantinBelovNE, we now have accurate race by race liveries for all teams. Link on first post.

Hey friends! A new update for the 1997 mod: Updated BBS, Enkei and OZ rims, updated helmets, fixed many of the normals (lighting) of the models, updated wings for most teams and many other minor updates and fixes. Updated link on first post.
